A MING DYNASTY DOUCAI DRAGON JAR AND COVER TIAN MARK CHENGHUA PERIOD. Dimensions: 7 x 6 3/4 in. It is in excellent condition with no repairs, chips, or cracks. Provenance: Exhibited at The Art Gallery Exhibition, Asian Art from the collection of Robert Edwards, 1965, Catalogue no. 75. Robert Edwards (1883-1979) and his wife Gloria (1886-1960). Thence by descent. Robert arrived in Shanghai in 1910, to work for Jardine, Matheson & Co. He married Gloria Byrne in 1917 and it was Gloria who took a special interest in acquiring Chinese antiques.
